The Godhead is outside of time and therefore is not controlled by it. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (omnipresent) sit in Heaven and view our timeline (past, present, and future) like a television screen. The three persons of the Godhead have complete control and are able to anything. Sometimes our natural minds limit us from walking in the fullness of the Spirit and receiving God’s fullness in this life. As the Lord is revealed inwardly, we can step into an increased measure of His grace.
Around 2014-2015 I was waiting on the Lord in His thick presence. I was pouring out my heart before Him and weeping. I was grieved that I had wasted so much of my time focusing on ministry instead of the Lord. I was repenting, asking for forgiveness, and telling the Lord that I wished I had made better use of my time. I told Him that I wished I could go back and do it over again. Then the Lord spoke to me. I cannot remember the exact words because it was so long ago, but it was something like this:
“All the time you spent focusing on ministry will be recorded as if you spent it focusing on Me. I am changing your past.”
His glory surrounded me so intensely that all I could do was weep. His goodness, mercy, and love was infused into all of my being.
I knew in a moment of time, the Eternal Godhead had rewritten my history. God Almighty had shined His light in me and showed me that nothing is impossible for Him. The One who is outside of time and holds the worlds in His hand, revealed Himself to me inwardly. At once I understood the scriptures that I had questions about. I had always wondered why the book of Hebrews gave a different report about Sarah and Moses than what had actually happened. The Eternal Godhead had changed their histories because they had grasped this understanding about Him.
These saints had learned to judge themselves during their earthly life so that they would not have to be judged before His throne (negatively) on the day of judgment (1 Corinthians 11:31, 2 Corinthians 5:10). They allowed the Lord to judge their heart motives and faith while in their earthly bodies and allowed the Lord to make corrections in them during their lives on the earth. As they repented and allowed the Lord to judge them, they were forgiven and God rewrote their failure so that it showed His Triumph in them and through them. The Lord’s testimony in Sarah and Moses is recorded in scripture:
Sarah
“Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “There, in the tent.” He said, “I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in years; she was past [the age of] childbearing. So Sarah laughed to herself [when she heard the Lord’s words], saying, “After I have become old, shall I have pleasure and delight, my Lord (husband) being also old?” And the Lord asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh [to herself], saying, ‘Shall I really give birth [to a child] when I am so old?’ Is anything too difficult or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes, I will return to you and Sarah will have a son.” Then Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh”; because she was afraid. And He (the Lord) said, “No, but you did laugh.”” (Genesis 18:9-15 AMP)
We see in the above scripture that Sarah did not believe God’s promise and actually laughed at the impossibly of it. This would contradict teaching from the ‘Word of Faith’ movement, but God fulfilled His promise despite Sarah’s unbelief. He is bigger than our lack of faith. His grace abounds in our weakness.
Sarah would have repented before the living God for doubting Him and laughing at His promise. She humbled herself and judged herself. So the Eternal Godhead changed Sarah’s history and made it as if it never happened. He recorded a different version of Sarah’s testimony than what we see in Genesis. Here is Sarah’s eternal testimony in Heaven:
“By faith even Sarah herself received the ability to conceive [a child], even [when she was long] past the normal age for it, because she considered Him who had given her the promise to be reliable and true [to His word]. So from one man, though he was [physically] as good as dead, were born as many descendants as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand on the seashore.” (Hebrews 11:11-12 AMP)
Hebrews does not mention that Sarah doubted God and laughed. It says she considered the Lord reliable and true! The eternal Godhead is greater than our failures. He is pointing to the One in us that can have faith and walk righteously. The Father is looking for the testimony of Jesus in us so He can glorify His Son through us. We get credit for yielding to Christ in us and allowing Him to do what we cannot do! We can’t live a perfect life but Christ in us can overcome as we yield to His perfection!
Moses
“And the man said, Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? Then Moses was afraid and thought, Surely this thing is known. When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh's presence and took refuge in the land of Midian, where he sat down by a well.” (Exodus 2:14-15 AMPC)
The scriptures reveal to us that Moses was afraid when he found out the king probably knew that he had killed an Egyptian. Moses feared the wrath of the king and fled Egypt because the king was going to kill him. Moses fled out of the fear of man and the fear of death. He was not leaving Egypt out of faith and living by a revelation of the Lord’s protection over him. Moses was moved by fear and the working of Satan to destroy him.
But something happened to Moses on the backside of a mountain in the desert. The self-life of Moses was crucified with Christ and the Moses of Exodus Chapter 2 was no more. Moses repented for trying to do things in his own strength, his own way, and in his own timing. God broke Moses and Moses met the Godhead who has the ability to change our history:
“By faith he left Egypt, being unafraid of the wrath of the king; for he endured [steadfastly], as seeing Him who is unseen.” (Hebrews 11:27 AMP)
The Lord’s historical books in Heaven now show a different testimony of Moses. He left Egypt walking by faith and not by natural sight. He was gazing on the eternal Godhead who is invisible and therefore was trusting in God and not fearing the wrath of the king.
Note: To clear up any confusion I will point out that the events in Hebrews Chapter 11 were written in chronological order. Therefore Hebrews 11:27 is speaking about the first time Moses left Egypt in which I have mentioned. Hebrews 11:27 is not speaking of the second time Moses left Egypt. Hebrews 11:28 shows that Moses is back in Egypt (after being away for 40 years) which brings clarity to the subject since the accounts are in chronological order. Then Hebrews 11:29 shows Moses leaving Egypt for the second time. Here is the entire passage in context and chronological order:
“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command. By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.” (Hebrews 11:23-29 NKJV)
Conclusion
What is written about our present and past can be rewritten in Heaven. We must not place our natural limitations on the eternal Godhead.
We stand before the God who calls things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17 KVJ). I pray for the eternal Godhead to be revealed in you. May He call those things that were not (in you) and make them as though they were! May we truly understand that the Godhead has all power and authority over time and over our past. He changed Sarah and Moses’ histories and He can change yours. Your journey or story is not over yet! There is time to seek the living God and get ahold of His grace. May the peace and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.
